Humanicide

We are men and we are great!

We’ve got agriculture, surplus, states, empire, industry!

Look at all of our civility.

What?

Fishes are dying?

Lands are drying?

Earth is expiring?

Ugh.

We have bigger dreams.

All must be sacrificed for our concrete heaven.

A cynosure.

A dead Eden inhabited by ghosts and whispers and urbane relics of a frantic past.

So raze the forests.

Burn the air.

the mold in me

the mold in me

I’ve been away for the last two weeks. My vow to write daily has been broken by debilitating illness. You see, I was poisoned by mold which ravaged my body systemically and to the point of near immobility. The signs were all there, with one member of the household exhibiting

I make no apologies for how I chose to repair what you broke. You don’t get to call me…

Warsan Shire

“you are a horse running alone
and he tries to tame you
compares you to an impossible highway
to a burning house
says you are blinding him
that he could never leave you
forget you
want anything but you
you dizzy him, you are unbearable
every woman before or after you
is doused in your name
you fill his mouth
his teeth ache with memory of taste
his body just a long shadow seeking yours
but you are…

The Psychology Of Holding Out For Something Else

The Psychology Of Holding Out For Something Else

I just got out of a relationship with a perfectly lovely individual. He was tall. He had a job. He was nice to me. He came from a corn-fed, family-values-type background. And yet, part of me was never committed to us. Part of me wanted to redownload Bumble (a less sketchy version of Tinder), attend the singles dances, and/or Facebook stalk the groomsmen in my friends’ wedding photos. It wasn’t…
