The East Bay punk rocker, who has been wearing guyliner since his teens, has teamed up with tattoo artist and model Kat Von D to release Basket Case Liner (“Basket Case” is, of course, one of Green Day’s most popular songs).

Kat posted a photo of her and Armstrong in full-on promotional mode as well as a shot of the Basket Case Liner product.

Green Day Announce Greatest Hits Album ‘God’s Favorite Band’

VIDEO: Green Day – “Holiday” (Music Video)

By Hayden Wright

(RADIO.COM) – Is Green Day “God’s favorite band?”

Regardless, that’s the title of the rockers’ new greatest hits collection and the edgy name does right by their decades of provocative music. The 22-track album features material from their early days through the height of their Bush administration agitation and beyond.

God’s Favorite Band also features a new song, “Back in the USA.” and a new version of “Ordinary World” that features Miranda Lambert. Lambert previously collaborated with Armstrong for an Everly Brothers tribute at the 2014 GRAMMY Awards.

The compilation’s name was inspired by a bit from a CBS Late Show bit in March:

“On March 22nd, God miraculously came down to the Ed Sullivan Theatre to introduce Green Day as ‘God’s Favorite Band’ on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert,” the band’s reps wrote in a cheeky press release. “When God speaks people listen, and that day God bestowed upon Green Day the title: Greatest Hits: God’s Favorite Band.”

God’s Favorite Band debuts November 17 and is available for pre-order.

Album Review: The Replacements ‘For Sale: Live at Maxwell’s 1986’

“Unsatisfied.” That’s the title of one of the Replacements’ greatest songs, and also a word that describes how serious rock fans feel every year when the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame nominations come around, realizing that bands like this and fellow Minnesotans Husker Du apparently don’t stand a chance of even coming up for […]

Canadian Gets Jail Time For Biting Girl At Green Day Concert

PORTLAND (AP) — A Canadian man who bit a 14-year-old girl on her right breast during a Green Day concert in Portland, Oregon, last month has been sentenced to 30 days in jail. Joel Dauncey of Vancouver pleaded no contest Monday to misdemeanor harassment of a sexual or intimate body part. Court documents say the teen told police she was dancing next to her mother at the Aug. 2 concert when a stranger bit her. She rated the pain as “3” on a 1-10 scale. A woman working at the concert told police that Dauncey had been cut off from buying alcohol. The worker said she witnessed the bite. The 34-year-old man told investigators he does not remember the incident. The Oregonian/OregonLive reports Dauncey made no statement at his sentencing. © Copyright 2017 The Associated Press.
