Sheriff’s Department Investigating After Man Found Shot, Dead

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (CBS13) – One man was shot and killed in Sacramento Sunday, the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department said. Deputies arrived at the 2200 block of Edison Avenue around 7:25 a.m. after someone called saying there was a man lying in the front yard of a home. At that time, deputies were unable to locate evidence of anyone being shot. The victim has been identified as a man in his late 30s.  His identity will be made available by the Sacramento County Coroner’s office, after notification has been made to his next of kin. Investigators are trying to determine what led up to the shooting. No motive or suspect description has been established, deputies said. Man Shot, Killed During House Party in South Sacramento

SOUTH SACRAMENTO, Calif. (CBS13) — Homicide detectives and Crime Scene investigators are investigating a homicide that occurred early Sunday morning outside of a South Sacramento home. Officers from the Sacramento Police Department were called to the home on Wardell Way around 12: 30 a.m. Sunday.  When they arrived on scene, they discovered an unresponsive man lying in the front of the residence. Officials with the Sacramento Fire Department pronounced the unidentified man dead at the scene. According to the Sacramento Police Department, shots were fired during a house party in the neighborhood. Investigators say they do not know where those shots were fired and where the man was when he was wounded by the gunfire. Detectives do not have a suspect description, and they are still determining the incidents leading up to the shooting.  They do not have a motive at this time. We will keep you updated as more information becomes available.

Man Dies After Shooting Breaks Out At Party In South Sacramento

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – The Sacramento Sheriff’s Department is investigating a homicide that happened overnight Saturday.

Officials received the call just after midnight of a man shot on the 7500 block of Cottontree Way in South Sacramento.

A 37-year-old man was found shot outside a home and taken to the hospital, where he later died.

Deputies say there was a party at the home when an argument broke out. The people involved were asked to leave, and several minutes later, several gunshots were fired from a light colored sedan.

The suspect fled south on Renton Way after the shooting.  Officials say there is no suspect description at this time.

The identity of the victim has not yet been released.  Detectives are asking anyone with information relating to this incident to contact the Sheriff’s Department at (916) 874-5115.
